The Mad Whaler is Very Mad And Spouting Nonsense

June 22, 2023

Iceland’s modern day Captain Ahab’s obsession with killing whales has made him angry, frustrated and paranoid after the decision by the Icelandic Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries to ban whaling operations for the 2023 season.

He’s calling the Minister an extreme communist and is threatening to topple her government.

Loftsson has no intention of stopping whaling and is using his wealth and influence to force the government to reverse the decision.

The John Paul DeJoria will remain offshore off of Reykjavik to await developments. The Icelandic Coast guard has made two fly-bys with their Dash 8 aircraft.

If Loftsson manages to force the government’s hand, we will be here to confront his whaling ships.

This is the translation of the article:

“It came like a thunderbolt out of the blue, and there are the Left Greens redefining the words ‘moderation in administration’ if this is to continue like this. With this, they are testing themselves with how far they can go. If this continues like this and they are allowed to get away with it, it is a bad sign for the business world,” said Kristján Loftsson, managing director of Hvals hf., in an interview with Morgunblaðið. His reaction to the decision of Food Minister Svandís Svavarsdóttir not to allow whaling until September 1st was sought.

“What’s going on here is that an extreme communist controls the Ministry of Food and seems to hate everything except government management. She is clearly adjusting to the new governance. In my opinion, it is highly unlikely that the Independence Party and the Progressive Party will have handed over the Ministry of Food to her,” said Kristján.

Open meeting in Akranes

“We have called for an open meeting here in Akranes, and I sent a meeting invitation to the Minister of Food, the members of parliament of the constituency and the parliamentary party leaders of all parties to give them the opportunity to explain their position on the matter,” said Vilhjálmur Birgisson, chairman of the Akraness Trade Union, in an interview with Morgunblaðið, but the reason for the meeting is the decision of the Minister of Food to stop fishing for a long time until September 1st.

The meeting will be held in the Gamla kaupfélagin in Akranes tonight, Thursday evening, and will start at 19.30.

The parliamentary group of the Independence Party will meet to discuss the decision of the Minister of Food on this matter before the weekend.

Progress is going to wait for conflict.
