The richest man in Iceland, this whale killing obsessed modern-day Captain Ahab is using all his influence to try and remove the Icelandic Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Svandis Svavarsdottir for her decision to ban whaling for the season. He is trying to overturn her decision and he is trying to secure a five-year permit to continue to kill endangered Fin whales.

Loftsson is going to fund, and get his lawyers to help every employee of Hvalur hr to sue the government

We on the John Paul DeJoria are remaining outside of the 12-mile limit in the event Loftsson manages to overturn the the Minister’s decision.
