NO EXPLANATION FROM SEA SHEPHERD GLOBAL.

NO EXPLANATION FROM SEA SHEPHERD GLOBAL.

March 22, 2024

Three days after the court decision that Sea Shepherd Global lost there is not a single explanation or mention of the fact that they lost their lawsuit against Sea Shepherd France.

The lawsuit that accused Sea Shepherd France, Lamya Essemlali and Captain Paul Watson of stealing the Sea Shepherd name and the Sea Shepherd logos, that accused them of being parasites exploiting the Sea Shepherd name and causing confusion amongst Sea Shepherd supporters, that accused them of stealing the logo designs from Sea Shepherd Global director Geert Vons, and accused them of disparagement.

The Judge ruled there was no disparagement, that the name and logo were not stolen and that Captain Paul Watson was the creator of the name and logo designs and not Geert Vons.

The Court also ordered Sea Shepherd Global to pay all legal costs for Sea Shepherd France. Some $27,000.

Sea Shepherd Global lost on all counts and one of their initial demands to the Court was that the judgement that they fully expected to be in their favor was to be published on the Sea Shepherd France homepage every day for three months.

So, I am commenting every day on the judgement for three months until Sea Shepherd Global agrees to acknowledge the loss of their legal assault to all their supporters.

Sea Shepherd Global and Sea Shepherd Australia should publicly denounce and end their association with the Austral Fisheries corporation. Sea Shepherd Australia should also inform all their supporters that they will no longer support so called “sustainable” fisheries.

The Sea Shepherd Australia position was 100% against commercial fishing when I was a director, but after their collaboration with Austral Fisheries, Jeff Hansen began to publicly promote “sustainable” fishing and promoted Austral  Fisheries as a sustainable company. Austral Fisheries specializes in exploiting Antarctic Toothfish AKA Chilean Sea Bass. This is an endangered species and never has been “sustainable.”

Sea Shepherd Global and Sea Shepherd Australia just completed a photography cruise to the Southern Ocean to focus attention on the exploitation of krill, the same krill that is purchased by a Scottish salmon farm company that in turn sells farm raised salmon to Austral Fisheries which then supports Sea Shepherd Australia.

It is a scandal and one of the reasons I resigned from the Sea Shepherd Australia Board of Directors in December 2022.

The lack of transparency to their supporters is shameful.
