Onward to the Ferociously Furious Bloody Faroe Islands

Onward to the Ferociously Furious Bloody Faroe Islands

July 5, 2023

After monitoring the situation in Iceland, the crew of Neptune’s Navy onboard the John Paul Dejoria came to Killybegs, Ireland to refuel and reprovision.

Icelandic whaling boss Kristján Loftssen is trying to overturn the temporary ban on whaling imposed by Icelandic Minister for Fisheries and Agriculture Svandís Svavarsdóttir. The ban is in effect until August 31st which is almost the end of the Icelandic whaling season.

Loftsson is trying to rally 32 members of the Icelandic Parliament to overturn the decision of the Icelandic Minister, and also to have her fired.

If this happens, we are only a few days aways from Iceland and we will return.

Although it makes absolutely no sense for Loftsson to return to whaling on September 1st, he may do so just in spite. Because of the weather, he will not be able to kill many whales, but he wants the personal narcissistic satisfaction of killing a few whales to demonstrate his continued manic obsession for killing endangered whales.

If this modern-day Captain Ahab does return to whaling on September 1st, we need to be prepared to return to block his operations.

Whaling is not over yet in Iceland. Loftsson is lobbying aggressively to secure a five-year permit from the Icelandic government to continue the killing for 2024 through 2029.

Even with a permit from Iceland, the killing of endangered Fin whales continues to be unlawful according to the International Whaling Commission and the global moratorium on commercial whaling.

We have decided that we will wait to see what develops in Iceland over the next two months but in the meantime, we will venture north to the Faroe Islands

The Captain Paul Watson Foundation UK has crew on the Faroe Islands now backed by some Faroese supporters. Apparently, the Danish Navy is preparing for our arrival in the Faroe Islands.

The Danish Navy is prepared to stop Neptune’s Navy and Neptune’s Navy is prepared to defend the innocent victims of this crazed and perverse circus of blood and gore.

Although the Faroe Islands claim to be independent of Denmark and the European Union allowing them to claim that the Grindadrap is not subject to Danish or European laws, it is Denmark that protects the savage killing with both the Danish Navy and the Danish police. Anyone arrested for opposing the killing is brought before a Danish Court and a Danish Judge and if convicted they are confined to a Danish jail or deported by Danish immigration.

Despite their claim that Denmark is not involved in the sadistic savage brutality of the slaughter of dolphins and pilot whales, the reality is that Denmark is very much involved.

There is no question that our venture into Faroese waters is risky, but we must do what we can, we must continue to keep the pressure on because this atrocity must be ended. The Faroese Grindadrap has no place in the world of the 21st Century.
