The name is reflected in Old English: *Ēastre ([ˈæːɑstre]; Northumbrian dialect: Ēastro, Mercian and West Saxon dialects: Ēostre [ˈeːostre]),[1][2][3] Old High German: *Ôstara, and Old Saxon: *Āsteron.
